Lynchburg Regional Airport, also known as Preston Glenn Field, is a regional airport located in Campbell County, Virginia. It is five nautical miles southwest of Lynchburg’s central business district. The airport has one commercial airline. It is owned and operated by the City of Lynchburg. It is located near the intersection of Route 29 South and Route 460.

Lynchburg Regional Airport serves the town of Lynchburg, Virginia. It is the last commercial service airport operated by a municipality in Virginia. Lynchburg Regional Airport’s regulatory framework is similar to other airports. The Lynchburg City Council is responsible for appointing the majority of the nine-member Regional Airport Commission. Located in North Carolina, Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) has been serving the region for over eighty years. The airport, formerly known as Preston Glenn Airport, serves the community as a stop-over for flights heading to and from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Despite its non-hub status, the airport is on the rise. American Airlines has recently added a seventh daily round-trip to LYH. This new service will boost available seat capacity at the airport. American Airlines’ Charlotte hub offers over 650 daily departures to 155 destinations and multiple connections to domestic destinations. Additionally, in October, American Airlines plans to add an additional 65-seat CR7 with up to four daily departures.
